Project 362: Days 24-29th January 24-January 29, 2012

You guessed it.

Rapid fire!

Tuesday January 24th:  This building is in the alley behind my work.  I always stare out at it when I’m in a meeting in this particular conference room.  It reminds me of a superhero hideout or an evil villain hideout in a movie.

Wednesday January 25th:  Saw this outside on my way to grab lunch. It made me laugh because it was outside of a bank.  “I like to party in public outside areas but I’m totally watching my Cals.”

Thursday January 26th: As I’ve mentioned before, my work allows dogs. This is Layla. She’s a boxer. I was calling her IT all day. Here she is ‘fixing’ my computer power-cord.

Friday January 27th: There is this locally famous burger joint called Bates that Benjie is IN LOVE WITH.  I decided to take another route home and stumbled upon this knock off… It’s the exact same outside but with Greene’s over it. What a buncha JERKS!

Saturday January 28th: I got Benjie UFC tickets for Christmas, so we went to Chicago and stayed on the Magnificent Mile.

Sunday January 29th: On our way back from Chicago we stopped at Cracker Barrel for something to eat. My Grandma loved this place, and she had purchased one of these large checkers games from the ‘general store.’  She would always play it with us, so when I saw these sitting outside it brought tears to my eyes and made me miss her even more.

I didn’t take this picture. I didn’t even think to take it because I was a little overwhelmed emotionally, but after leaving I knew what I should have done.

Project 362- Day 24: January 24, 2012

I’ll say it… I’m not scared. My job is fucking boring… in fact I dislike it. I don’t HATE it because it’s income, but COME ON!!!

The only thing that gets me through the day are staring at these beauties. Love, friends, and family.

Project 362: Days 20-23- January 20th -23rd

Rapid fire again. Deal with it.

The temperature outside on Friday morning… 2!!!! 2!!!

These icicles were hovering above the rapids on the river near our apt. It was cool! Not the best picture though…

This was at the Ice Festival in Plymouth over the weekend. There was fire inside!

Again… not the best picture.

This is the wreath sitting at the head of my Grandma’s Grave. I bet you she loves it. Irish girl. :)

Project 362: Days 15-19 January 15th-January 19, 2012

Ready for the rapid fire??

Sunday January 15th, 2012: Lazy Sunday Breakfast- Chai infused oatmeal, plain non-fat yogurt and fresh raspberries. YUM!

Monday January 16, 2012: Euchure point system, a game my boyfriend had no clue to play and now is SLOWLY becoming a TRUE Michigander. So proud.

Tuesday January 17, 2012: Playing doctor. Poor thing has been sick all weekend. Yes that is a headband holding a cold pack against his head. At least he looks cute.

Wednesday January 18th, 2012:

TBD having technical difficulties

Thursday January 19th, 2012:  It took me over an hour to get to work. Thank you blizzard.

Project 362: Day 14: January 14, 2012

Today was the first snow fall that has actually stuck for more than 24hrs.

My boyfriend and I were so excited for the day to come where we could actually go sledding and really enjoy it. Of course he was sick all day today… wahh, wahh!

At least it looked pretty.

Maybe tomorrow we’ll get to play in it.

I love being back in Michigan. :)

Project 362: Day 13: January 13, 2012

Sometimes after a long week of work you need to reward yourself. In this case it was Anita’s Kitchen in Ferndale. SOOOOO DELICIOUS.

I know I said I was trying to lose weight, and I am. This is a very healthy lunch and I only ate about 3/4 of it. So suck on that you judgmental punks.

Pictured here: Grilled lemon garlic chicken, hummus, tabooli, rice pilaf, and pita bread.

Project 362- Day 11: January 11, 2012

Tumblr… meet Jake.

Jake is a co-workers dog. He was my little buddy today. A gentle giant if you will…

It’s cool to work in a place where it’s encouraged to bring your dog into work.

The boy and I have been talking about getting a dog for a long time but unfortunately our apt doesn’t allow them. I think I may have to talk to our landlord and work something out after today.

(I took this picture before my lunch break and also read THIS heartbreaking story before my adventure at lunch:http://www.newser.com/story/137241/kayaker-saves-dog-fleeing-fatal-accident.html)

Today was a crazy ass day. I was slammed with work and ran out to grab a bite to eat for lunch. As I turned left out of our parking lot I noticed a stray puppy (had to of only been a year old) wondering the street and swaying into oncoming traffic. I layed on my horn to alert the other driver and pulled to the side of the road. I saw other people doing the same, but the dog continued on running away from them.

They gave up, and I kept following the dog into the local subdivision.

He looked young, distressed, dirty, and hungry. He still had a leash on him. I followed him in my car for about 3 blocks. He finally gave up and just plopped himself on the front lawn of someones house.

I parked my car and the owners of the house came outside. I asked them if it was their dog or if he looked familiar. They said no. One of them attempted to pet him and he quickly jumped up and started shaking. His paw seemed to be hurt and his ribs were showing through his skin. He was terrified. He started to make a run for it as another car was  40yds away oblivious as to what was going on. Luckily one of the owners of the home snatched his leash and saved him before being hit.

They asked if I had to go back to work, and I said yes. It broke my heart.

They said they were going to take him to the police station to see what they should do.

I felt awful, I wish I could have taken him home myself and given him a warm bath and bowl after bowl of food until his tiny little tummy was full. Although it’s cool to bring YOUR dog to work… I don’t know how my work would feel if I showed up with a stray dog.

It’s random things like this that make me wish I lived closer to work.

How could anyone be so heartless to not take care of a pet? Poor thing.

I hope he’s okay and his belly is full.

Project 362- Day 10 January 10, 2012

See what I did there?

I don’t consider myself religious by any means, but I respect it.

Religion was very important to my Grandma, she was a proud Catholic… and a proud Irish woman. She said the rosary every day of her life (impressive right?). People from all walks of life came together as one for her wake and said the whole rosary (mine, a gift from her sister pictured here).

Not a day goes by where I don’t think about her.

Love you Grandma.

Project 365- Day 7 January 7, 2012

It’s not every day the Lions are in the NFL playoffs… it’s also not every day you teach your dog to drink a beer.

*NOTE TO PETA* It’s empty. Chill the F’ out.
